Purpose
Designed through collaboration with regional MC partners to support the following objectives.
Track whether protected areas in Micronesia are meeting the regionally agreed thresholds for management effectiveness. Marine data auto-uploads to MPA Atlas.
Track changes over time
Enable periodic assessments that identify changes in management effectiveness over time and highlight areas needing improvement.

Initial setup requires the most effort, but data carries forward automatically for future assessments.
Include community members, protected area managers, support organizations, and technical advisors to answer assessment questions together.
Print results with improvement actions that directly inform management plan decision-making.
Feed results into MC Tracking and MPA Atlas and use reports to adapt management.
Assessments should be completed at least once every few years, and ideally before management plan updates.
Install the app to your device and conduct assessments in the field without internet. Your data is saved locally and syncs when you reconnect.
